Carter and Kelly: Act One Scene Three
It’s a classic tale of boy meets girl. After that, though, it gets tricky. Six weeks before Carter moved to Nashville, and as love would have it, they started hanging out. Every day. For six weeks. And then he was gone.
Kelly got a job in Guam and moved there for two years. Kelly in Guam. Carter in Nashville. Oh, but the phone company was HAPPY!
After the phone bills got to be more than the rent, the two decided to get in the same town, and for reasons having to do with southern cooking, Kelly moved from South Seas paradise to Nashville, Tennessee. Almost one year later to the day, they were married and now live in wedded bliss. Five years and counting.
When the couple isn’t sitting around gazing into one another’s eyes, they are bound to be in the kitchen giving the Four Seasons a run for their money, or out in the yard tending to the butterflies and the garden. Or watching movies. Or entertaining guests. Or driving around in the convertible, or hanging out with good friends, or hiking through the woods. Or burning books.
Due to the recent spike in gas prices, Carter and Kelly still maintain their day jobs, however. Kelly works in a cardiology office. Carter works in the dark all day in a photo lab.
In an effort to shed themselves from this mortal coil, they conspired to write a book, and indeed they did. It has been rejected by one publisher so far, so the day jobs persist.
All in all, it’s a charmed life they lead, and neither feel it is too narcissistic to think that you might be interested in hearing about it on the pages of our own blog. Read at your peril.
